You must have heard about fire in the forests caused by pine leaves, himalayan terrain are no strangers to these incidents of forest fires, what you might not have heard would be crockery and many household items being made from pine leaves. This is also good news for many women looking for employment in himalayan region of Himachal. The Himalayan Pine Company has come up with this novel idea of utilising power of mother nature and is working extensively in this direction. Most importantly this venture would not only help reduce chances of forest fires but also help in environment protection by giving us plastic alternative.

On Monday, the Himalayan Pine Company organised an event in Dharamshala to show case the products made with the help of pine leaves and this event was adorned with the presence of stellar cast of ex-cricketer, cinema actors and ambassador from Denmark, Fredie Sven. The founder of the company Abhinav Talwar along with writer and director Bharat Joshi, Celebrity Karanvir Bohra, Actress Simple Kaul and former cricketer Atul Vasan were involved in the event.

Founder Abhinav Talwar pointed that, the products of the pine leaves not only displace the plastic but also reduce our carbon footprint on a daily basis and a bio-ecosystem is possible around the pine needles of the Himalayas.

Denmark’s Ambassador Freddy Sven was quite impressed by the crockery made by the pine leaves and added that big advantage of this is, it is bio degradable and can really help reduce dependency on plastic. He would really love to see these products being sold in Denmark.
